 It's nearly a dead heat with A Christmas Carol, but George Bailey edges out Ebenezer with the sizzling Donna Reed phone kiss, which nearly melted the Bakelite handset. Shot during a California heat wave, this Capra Classic is immortal. Funniest line: "She's a librarian," expressed with the horror you'd reserve for a murderess.
