Sea Monkeys

They're also known as brine shrimp. You may remember seeing ads for these in comic books when you were a kid. The ads promised you could train your sea monkeys to do tricks and implied that they would have faces and personalities. Not exactly. However, these creatures are fun to watch. More fun is the somewhat ironic culture that's grown up around them, at sites like Sea Monkey Worship. A certain kind of kid — and the parents who love him — will get a kick out of joining the Sea Monkey Forum or reading The Diary of a Mad Sea Monkey Lady.

Besides, they're pretty!
