Because of First Daughter Malia Obama’s allergies, the family needed a hypoallergenic breed. U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy gave the Obamas Bo, who moved into the White House in April 2009. His walkers: First Lady Michelle Obama in the morning, and Barack Obama in the night.
