A is for Aretha Franklin
Aretha Franklin, the 70-year-old queen of soul, undoubtedly gets a lot of R-E-S-P-E_C_T from her grandchildren. The Los Angeles Times noted that a rap group consisting of her grandchildren serenaded her in 2008 with “inspirational rhymes punctuated by break dancing.” Here she attends a special screening of “Sparkle” in August with “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks.
