Green star: Jon Bon Jovi

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi worked for Philadelphia’s first LEED-certified affordable housing apartment building, with a green roof and a rainwater collection system. The singer, a tireless volunteer for groups such as Habitat for Humanity, is also a member of Barack Obama’s White House Council for Community Solutions. Here he hangs out in December 2011 with his kids (from left), Jesse, 17, Stephanie, 18, Romeo, 7, and Jacob, 9, and his wife, Dorothea Hurley.
