Six years ago, Joan Rivers gave online dating a whirl on the site Match.com. The then 72-year old put up a picture and said she was "interested in coffee and conversation." Rivers did meet a man online that she dated for several years.
Her approach is a good one for any online dater: keep it light and fun. No one wants to read an overly serious profile, so if you can break down your intentions to the most basic (wanting to meet someone special, wanting to chat with someone new), you'll have much more success with online dating.
