Calvin Coolidge

Calvin Coolidge, a shy lawyer and former Massachusetts governor who served as president from 1923 to 1929, raised two sons, Calvin Jr. and John, with his vivacious wife Grace Goodhue Coolidge, a former teacher at a school for the deaf. He took the oath of office from his father, a notary public, after President Warren Harding died.
